"Quantic Dream brought us Heavy Rain, one of the most original and well-received games of this generation. David Cage was the man responsible for that, and now he has brought us another game, which he has again both written and directed. This time however it features Ellen Page as a young girl named Jodie who, ever since she was born, has had an entity known as Aiden attached to her and Willem Dafoe a scientist, and father figure, responsible for her as the main stars. How can fans of Heavy Rain not get excited about this? The question is, even with both these actors on board, does it live up to its predecessor?"

Developer Quantic Dream has been trying to perfect its distinctive form of interactive storytelling for a decade now. With Beyond: Two Souls I feel Quantic Dream have really hit the spot on interactive storytelling, with providing the player with a variety of options during segments of gameplay but ultimately still carrying the story on a linear path based on your decisions.

Her performance made Jodie and Aiden's relationship deeply touching and relatable, which forced me to stay up late at night, excited to see what would come next. If Quantic Dream's next title continues to make improvements and finds someone as powerful and invested as Ellen Page is in Beyond for their next game, then I'll finally be a believer in their signature cinematic game design."

Brian Wilson writes: Beyond: Two Souls is nothing short of a thrilling, action packed, emotional, adventure game that takes a different path from the others. If you were a fan of Heavy Rain, I highly recommend checking this one out. David Cage has gotten some heat for being over the top and ambitious, but I applaud his work on top of Ellen Pages and William Dafoes acting. Beyond: Two Souls melds the world of movies and games into one. Quantic Dream created a personalized masterpiece that should most definitely be experienced.
